Job Description

Design it, build it, fix it: mechanical engineering work at the materials handling equipment manufacturer in Bloemfontein. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a materials handling equipment manufacturer on the Bloemfontein side of Free State. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347

Must-haves

Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Code 08 licence for site visits
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level

Nice if you have

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Reliability or asset management certification
