Job Description

This food and beverage factory in Pretoria West needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a food and beverage factory on the Pretoria West side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor

What you need

Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Code 08 licence for site visits
Able to manage contractors and budgets
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

Helpful, not essential

Reliability or asset management certification
Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Project management certificate
