Job Description

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the materials handling equipment manufacturer in Johannesburg CBD. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

What your day looks like

Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment

What you need

Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Code 08 licence for site visits
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting

Helpful, not essential

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Project management certificate
Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
