Job Description

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the food and beverage factory in Somerset West. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Somerset West, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom

What you need

Code 08 licence for site visits
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Able to manage contractors and budgets
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
