Job Description

This engineering consultancy in Vereeniging needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at an engineering consultancy.

What your day looks like

Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes

What you need

Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Able to manage contractors and budgets
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Code 08 licence for site visits
