Candidate Quantity Surveyor

The civils and earthworks contractor in Randburg needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a civils and earthworks contractor in Randburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities

• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work

• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
