Candidate Quantity Surveyor

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the civils and earthworks contractor in Tembisa. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a civils and earthworks contractor in Tembisa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Study support for an honours degree
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Hybrid days in the office and on site

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
