CCTV Monitoring Officer (Night Roster)

From a chair in a shopping mall security office in Burgersfort, you guide officers in the field to where they are needed. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a shopping mall security office in Burgersfort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows

• Matric
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures

• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• CCTV operator short course
• Speaking more than one local language

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Training on the monitoring software
• Shift allowance for nights

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
