Job Description

Shrinkage hurts every electronics store; in Polokwane, you would be the one tracking it down. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Polokwane (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Share trends with the store manager each week
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial

What you need

Able to handle confrontation calmly
Discreet, observant and honest
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
Good report writing
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4

Helpful, not essential

Retail loss prevention course
Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
