Estate Security Supervisor

You'll run a shift of officers at a guarding contract across several sites in Polokwane, keeping posts covered and standards high. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a guarding contract across several sites on the Polokwane side of Limpopo.

• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Investigate incidents and write reports for the client
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches

• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Available after hours for emergencies
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)

• Mining or hospital security experience
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
• Labour relations or basic supervision course

• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles

• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
