CCTV Monitoring Officer (Night Roster)

Night or day, a remote video monitoring centre in Centurion never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a remote video monitoring centre in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams

• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts

• Training on the monitoring software
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Shift allowance for nights

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
