CCTV Monitoring Officer (Night Roster)

Night or day, a remote video monitoring centre in Welkom never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Welkom-based, with most of your time spent at a remote video monitoring centre. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Matric
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Shift allowance for nights
• Training on the monitoring software

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
