Housekeeping keeps a serviced apartment block in Kuruman running quietly in the background. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a serviced apartment block on the Kuruman side of Northern Cape.

• Update room status on the housekeeping app or board after each room.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Hand in lost property with a written log entry.
• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.

• Weekend and public holiday work
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
• Grade 10 or higher
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow

• A supervisor course or time spent running a floor
• Laundry machine and steam press experience
• Basic first aid certificate

• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Meals on duty
• Monthly award for best room scores

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
