Job Description

This road agency project office in Benoni needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Benoni (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software

You'll need

Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering

Extra points for

Contract management training for NEC or GCC
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
