Civil Design Technician (Stormwater)

Clean water, safe roads and sound structures start with a good engineer at the structural design practice in Krugersdorp. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a structural design practice on the Krugersdorp side of Gauteng.

• Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
• Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
• Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
• Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
• Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals

• Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
• Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
• Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site

• Master's degree in structural or water engineering
• Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
• Registration with SAICE and active CPD
