Job Description

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the engineering consultancy in Johannesburg CBD. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is an engineering consultancy on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom

You'll need

BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Able to manage contractors and budgets

Extra points for

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
Finite element analysis skills
