Job Description

This civil engineering consultancy in Pinetown needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a civil engineering consultancy on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal.

The work, day to day

Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Write design reports and handover documents
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software

What you need

Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Good grasp of South African design codes for your field

Helpful, not essential

Contract management training for NEC or GCC
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
