Job Description

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the road agency project office in Rustenburg. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work, day to day

Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Write design reports and handover documents
Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments

What you need

BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
Good grasp of South African design codes for your field

Nice if you have

Master's degree in structural or water engineering
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
Contract management training for NEC or GCC
