Civil Engineer (Water and Sanitation) – Fixed-Term

Clean water, safe roads and sound structures start with a good engineer at the bulk water utility in Benoni. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Benoni. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
• Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
• Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
• Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
• Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
• Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures

• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
• At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
• Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site

• Registration with SAICE and active CPD
• Contract management training for NEC or GCC
• Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
