Civil Engineering Technologist (Roads) – Experienced

This civil engineering consultancy in Alberton needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Alberton; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
• Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
• Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
• Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
• Write design reports and handover documents
• Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue

• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
• At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
• Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
• Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
