Job Description

This civil engineering consultancy in Gqeberha needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a civil engineering consultancy on the Gqeberha side of Eastern Cape. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Write design reports and handover documents
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162

Must-haves

At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors

Nice if you have

Master's degree in structural or water engineering
Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
