Clinic Cleaner (Day Shift) – Experienced

You'll keep a community health clinic in Benoni safe for patients by cleaning the way infection control demands. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a community health clinic in Benoni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Take soiled linen to the sluice room and bring clean linen back
• Fill in cleaning logs so infection control can audit the ward
• Wear gowns, masks and gloves as each room requires
• Move patients' belongings and equipment when rooms change
• Clean theatres between operations to the hospital's turnaround times

• Matric or Grade 11
• Calm under pressure in busy wards
• Not squeamish about blood, vomit or medical waste
• Willing to follow strict infection control steps every time

• Previous hospital or clinic cleaning experience
• Knowledge of healthcare waste handling rules
• An infection prevention and control short course

• Medical aid option through the employer
• On-the-job infection control training
• Meal on shift at the staff canteen
• Shift allowances for nights and Sundays

• If you did an infection control course, attach the certificate. It moves you ahead of general cleaners.
