Clinic Cleaner (Day Shift)

You'll keep a private hospital in Polokwane safe for patients by cleaning the way infection control demands. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a private hospital in Polokwane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Disinfect bed rails, call bells and bedside lockers
• Clean theatres between operations to the hospital's turnaround times
• Take soiled linen to the sluice room and bring clean linen back
• Do terminal cleans of isolation rooms after a patient is discharged
• Move patients' belongings and equipment when rooms change
• Clean patient rooms using colour-coded cloths and mops for each area
• Mop spills of blood or fluids using the spill kit

• Up to date with vaccinations the hospital requires, such as hepatitis B
• Willing to follow strict infection control steps every time
• Calm under pressure in busy wards
• Able to work shifts including weekends and night duty

• Respectful and discreet around patients

• Previous hospital or clinic cleaning experience
• Knowledge of healthcare waste handling rules
