Cloud Engineer (AWS)

You'll keep servers, networks and cloud services up and secure for an university IT department in Pinetown. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Pinetown-based, with most of your time spent at an university IT department. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
• Document network diagrams and change records
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance

• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications

• ISO 27001 audit experience
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh
