Cloud Engineer (AWS)

When the network goes down at this managed services provider in Rosslyn, you're the one who brings it back. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Rosslyn-based, with most of your time spent at a managed services provider. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
• Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
• Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
• Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts

• Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
• At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python

• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate

• Funded certification path

• Mention the environment size, such as "120 VMs, 14 sites, 900 users", as it tells recruiters your level.
• Be ready to talk through an outage you fixed, step by step; it's a common interview question.
