Job Description

Patch, monitor, back up and harden systems at a manufacturing group with several sites in Welkom. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a manufacturing group with several sites in Welkom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
Troubleshoot load-shedding related outages and UPS failures
Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills
Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure
Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
Apply monthly patches to servers and network devices

Must-haves

Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications
Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
Clear change management and documentation habits
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration

Nice if you have

ISO 27001 audit experience
Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Ansible
CCNA, Fortinet NSE or MikroTik certification
