Cocktail Bartender – Immediate Start

This is a floor job at a beachfront cocktail bar in Cape Town CBD where your tips follow your service. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a beachfront cocktail bar on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.

• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts

• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff meal on every shift
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
