Job Description

Customers across Umhlanga wait on your truck, so a waste management contractor needs someone reliable behind the wheel. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a waste management contractor on the Umhlanga side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly
Get signed invoices back to the office at the end of each day
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading

Must-haves

At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
Honest with cash and customer goods
Friendly and professional with customers

Helpful, not essential

Speaking local languages on township routes
Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
