Code 10 Driver (Frozen Foods Route) – Immediate Start

You'll run local delivery routes around Mthatha for a waste management contractor, dropping 10 to 20 stops a day. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Mthatha-based, with most of your time spent at a waste management contractor.

• Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
• Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
• Get signed invoices back to the office at the end of each day
• Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
• Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
• Keep empties and returns separate for credit
• Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly

• Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
• At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
• Honest with cash and customer goods
• Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
• Clean driving record
• Valid PrDP for goods (G)

• Speaking local languages on township routes
• Code 14 licence (a step up)
• Experience on a sales-and-delivery route

• Company-paid PrDP renewals
• Home every night
• Delivery incentive per completed route

• If your PrDP expires soon, renew it before applying. An expired PrDP is an automatic no.
• Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
