Job Description

Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a frozen food distributor in Isando. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a frozen food distributor on the Isando side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Collect cash or cheques on COD deliveries and bank them correctly

What you need

Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
Clean driving record
At least 2 years driving rigid trucks

Helpful, not essential

Speaking local languages on township routes
Crane or HIAB operator certificate
