Job Description

You'll run local delivery routes around Durban Central for a building-supplies merchant, dropping 10 to 20 stops a day. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Durban Central. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What your day looks like

Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Check the load against invoices before signing it out
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving

Must-haves

At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
Clean driving record
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
Honest with cash and customer goods
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
Friendly and professional with customers

Nice if you have

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Speaking local languages on township routes
