Job Description

Home every night: a furniture retailer in Harrismith needs a steady Code 10 driver for daily routes. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a furniture retailer on the Harrismith side of Free State.

What you'll actually do

Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Get signed invoices back to the office at the end of each day
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning

What you need

Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Clean driving record
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
Friendly and professional with customers
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city

Nice if you have

Speaking local languages on township routes
Crane or HIAB operator certificate

What you get

Home every night
Overtime on month-end and peak days
Delivery incentive per completed route

How to apply

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: ID copy and proof of residence, Code 10 licence and PrDP card copies plus references from delivery or distribution jobs.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 9 working days, usually by phone.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Harrismith.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

Name the areas you know well. A driver who already knows the route saves the company money from day one.
Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
