Job Description

Customers across Paarl wait on your truck, so a furniture retailer needs someone reliable behind the wheel. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Paarl-based, with most of your time spent at a furniture retailer. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Deliver to shops, sites and homes on your route
Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
Check the load against invoices before signing it out
Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
Get signed invoices back to the office at the end of each day
Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading

What you need

Honest with cash and customer goods
Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Clean driving record
Friendly and professional with customers
Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
Good knowledge of roads in and around the city

What's in it for you

Home every night
Overtime on month-end and peak days
Company-paid PrDP renewals
Delivery incentive per completed route

Applying, step by step

Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): Code 10 licence and PrDP card copies plus ID copy and proof of residence.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 6 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Paarl; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Before you hit apply

Name the areas you know well. A driver who already knows the route saves the company money from day one.
Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
