Job Description

The road is your office with a cold-chain logistics fleet based in Midrand, and the load gets there because of you. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The site is in Midrand; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops

What you need

Passport for cross-border routes
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Medically fit, including eyesight
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

Nice if you have

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course
