Job Description

The road is your office with a long-haul freight fleet based in Umhlanga, and the load gets there because of you. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a long-haul freight fleet on the Umhlanga side of KwaZulu-Natal. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date

Must-haves

At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Clean criminal record
