Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a cross-border transport company in Germiston pays for. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a cross-border transport company on the Germiston side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads

You'll need

Passport for cross-border routes
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Clean criminal record
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Medically fit, including eyesight
