Full-time Driving & Transport Code 14

Apply for this job

Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Midrand, and the load gets there because of you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a cross-border transport company on the Midrand side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

Must-haves

Clean criminal record
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Passport for cross-border routes
Medically fit, including eyesight

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course

What you get

Provident fund and medical aid option
Paid PrDP renewal
Monthly safe-driving and fuel-saving bonus

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): passport copy for cross-border work plus reference letters from previous transport companies.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 9 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Midrand; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Before you hit apply

List the trailer types and routes you have done, for example "tautliner, JHB to Durban, 4 years".
Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
