Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a cross-border transport company in Stellenbosch is hiring. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a cross-border transport company on the Stellenbosch side of Western Cape. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

You'll need

Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Passport for cross-border routes
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Medically fit, including eyesight
Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)

Extra points for

Defensive driving course
Dangerous goods training certificate
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
