Job Description

The road is your office with a long-haul freight fleet based in Johannesburg CBD, and the load gets there because of you. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts

You'll need

At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

Nice if you have

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Defensive driving course
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
