Code 14 Flatdeck Driver (Steel Loads)

The road is your office with a fuel distribution fleet based in Kathu, and the load gets there because of you. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Kathu (Northern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

• Medically fit, including eyesight
• Clean criminal record
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Passport for cross-border routes
• Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

• Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
• Clean record on a telematics driving score
• Knowledge of SADC border routes

• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Monthly safe-driving and fuel-saving bonus
• Paid PrDP renewal

• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
