Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Pretoria West, and the load gets there because of you. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll report in Pretoria West. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

You'll need

Clean criminal record
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Passport for cross-border routes
Medically fit, including eyesight

Nice if you have

Dangerous goods training certificate
Clean record on a telematics driving score
