Code 14 Flatdeck Driver (Steel Loads)

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a coal haulage contractor in Prospecton is hiring. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Prospecton-based, with most of your time spent at a coal haulage contractor. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
• Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
• Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks

• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Medically fit, including eyesight

• Clean record on a telematics driving score
• Dangerous goods training certificate
• Knowledge of SADC border routes

• Well-maintained trucks with sleeper cabs
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips
• Monthly safe-driving and fuel-saving bonus

• Be honest about accidents or fines. Companies check your driving record anyway and trust drivers who tell them upfront.
• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
