Job Description

The road is your office with a fuel distribution fleet based in Springs, and the load gets there because of you. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a fuel distribution fleet on the Springs side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

You'll need

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean criminal record
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time

Extra points for

Knowledge of SADC border routes
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
