Job Description

The road is your office with a cross-border transport company based in Vereeniging, and the load gets there because of you. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at a cross-border transport company. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip

Must-haves

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Clean criminal record
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Passport for cross-border routes
Medically fit, including eyesight

Extra points for

Knowledge of SADC border routes
