Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a long-haul freight fleet in Boksburg is hiring. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Boksburg-based, with most of your time spent at a long-haul freight fleet. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped

You'll need

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Medically fit, including eyesight
Clean criminal record

Helpful, not essential

Defensive driving course
Clean record on a telematics driving score
