Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a coal haulage contractor in Cape Town CBD is hiring. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Cape Town CBD. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Log driving hours and take the required rest breaks
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

Must-haves

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Medically fit, including eyesight
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Clean criminal record
Passport for cross-border routes

Nice if you have

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Dangerous goods training certificate
