Job Description

Experienced Code 14 drivers are in short supply, and a long-haul freight fleet in Germiston is hiring. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Germiston-based, with most of your time spent at a long-haul freight fleet.

What you'll actually do

Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

What you need

Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Passport for cross-border routes
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Medically fit, including eyesight

Nice if you have

Clean record on a telematics driving score
Dangerous goods training certificate
