Job Description

The road is your office with a fuel distribution fleet based in Pietermaritzburg, and the load gets there because of you. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is in Pietermaritzburg (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops

What you need

Clean criminal record
Passport for cross-border routes
Medically fit, including eyesight
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
