Job Description

You'll move heavy loads between Welkom and depots across the country for a cross-border transport company. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a cross-border transport company in Welkom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

What you need

Clean criminal record
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Passport for cross-border routes
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Medically fit, including eyesight

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Defensive driving course
Dangerous goods training certificate
