Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a cross-border transport company in Alberton pays for. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Alberton (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

The work, day to day

Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Drive planned routes and stop only at approved truck stops
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads

You'll need

Medically fit, including eyesight
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Passport for cross-border routes
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence

Nice if you have

Defensive driving course
Dangerous goods training certificate
Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
